When James Beauman joins a study group on sleep disorders, he thinks he is simply the 'control' member - he himself has never dreamt at all. But under the direction of psychologist Huw Reeves, the group starts to take up more and more of his waking thoughts not least because he meets and falls in love with Delphine, a dreamer of terrifying, filmic intensity. Then suddenly and inexplicably Delphine walks out and James is forced to take a long, hard look at the man he has become. Has he been sleepwalking through his own life? And could it be that Huw's plans for the group, and Delphine in particular, are something rather more sinister than a good night's sleep?
