The philosophical concern of this book is epistemological, involving understanding the Socratic elentic method and how its structure introduces an important epistemological problem which is first raised in the Meno dialogue. Named the Meno Paradox, the problem is the impossibility of falsehood. The Theaetetus and the Sophist dialogues are then analysed in terms of how falsehood is set up as an epistemological and semantic problem respectively.
